Life is deeply intertwined with Art.  Within my practice I have found safety, I have hidden in it and revealed myself through it. I have battled the mind and found peace in surrender upon the face of the canvas. Art is intertwined with my existence. It is indistinguishable from myself.

Exist within it for now, without the fear of it being taken. If it slips from my fingertips, I can scour my fingerprints to find it again. If it is taken from me, I want to sit, understand and watch every minute, every moment and very breath, so I can recreate it in my dreams and fashion it from my hands, like a spider’s web upon the streetlamps. It will be mine to hold and return to. It will mine to let go of.
 I will not fear losing it, but instead blissfully allow it to float away like wind on a cloud, as change to seeps through the cracks of paradise.

I don’t have to be a bird to live in the sky. I can sleep light as a feather against the clouds, undisturbed by a possessive prince who hopes I will wake up at the touch of his careless lips. I don’t think I want to wake up. I’m not sure I remember how. So if I seem aloof, I apologise, I’ve been asleep for so long, I’ve forgotten how to stop dreaming. 

At the edge of our dreams, we tremble. Like a child afraid to embrace it in fear of breaking the illusion, tip-toeing through paradise in fear of awakening the nightmare. It takes strength to embrace joy. It takes courage to embrace the dream. 

Figurative

We’re no longer in the desert, my dear. Why are you pulling at your ship? What are you trying to escape? You’ve reached the shores of paradise, Eden lies before your feet, yet, you are hoarding water from the river, filling wall to wall with bottles, watching them in the night, in sleeplessness, while anxious, sweating and parched. Why do you still feel the scorpions scurry about your feet, despite them having disbanded years ago? 
Resilient little creature, you know how to survive but forgot how to live. 
Even though you are no longer in the desert my dear, why do you cling to it? 

Social

A broken ship can serve to be an ideal vessel to paradise, for one who understands the nature of heaven. It was never meant to be a ship, so in that sense it has to be broken in order to fulfill the conditions of the paradise it must emulate. 
To break may be to break free from the boundaries within which we understand the ship.
