I like the expressive and visceral, figurative with dabbles in the abstract to express my opinion of the world I see. I want my portraits, human figures, animals, trees and landscapes to be a silent cry, not mere decoration...

My preferences are many, there are so many beautiful fountains that I drink from as many as I can!

Sometimes I look for inspiration and other times it arrives without warning. I love the reward of hunting it, creating and communicating!

ÓSCAR DE DOMPABLO

This artwork is a white willow in winter. The contrast of black and white always catches me. I like to let the paint drain on the canvas and look for those lines that are drawing and creating a visual atmosphere to the work. I am passionate about nature and I am a mountaineer. I go out into the forest a lot to climb the mountains and nature captivates me.

This work belongs to a series on the sea. This painting is a vindication of the African emigrants who shipwrecked in the Mediterranean Sea. The work is in red, which is a metaphor for the blood of migrants injured and desperate to survive in the ocean. And the black that represents the darkness, the night and also the abyss and despair.


Abstract Seascape

This work reflects the drought in the fields and is a reflection on climate change and the need to be sustainable for the survival of the ecosystem. The drought is advancing at an alarming rate.

Abstract Landscapes

This work belongs to a series on faces, which is another subject that interests me. The portraits, the gesture, the expression, the look are elements that attract me a lot. In this work I do a stylization of a woman, I wanted to make a close-up or a great detail of her face between white curls, giving her a touch of afro hair but the other way around in white. I have used black to paint the girl who was not dark-skinned, but she had very powerful lips that I idealized as Goddess Ovis.

Modern Portrait

This figurative and expressionist work is based on the ethnographic photographs of the Spanish photographer Carlos Gonzalez Ximenez of the Ituren and Zubieta Carnivals in Navarra, Spain. These characters dressed as rams and sheep seemed to me to have an impressive force and I wanted to paint them in my own way using black and white, which are the most important colors for me, the contrast that it provokes and the expressive force.
