In this piece, I explored the intertwining of minimalism and oriental symbolism through stark, vivid contrasts. Using acrylics, I created bold blue stripes, inspired by the calm yet repetitive cadence of nature’s cycles, framed by an ethereal, hazy background that suggests tranquility and depth. 
I think this is one of the best I did this year, maybe THE best.

In this piece, I sought to explore the mystical balance between light and darkness, inspired by oriental art yet expressed in a semi-abstract form. The moon, luminous and non-central, represents tranquility and enlightenment surrounded by the turmoil of blues and  reds, symbolizing the ever-present change of existence. This artwork is an invitation to find peace amidst life's undying energy.
Although maybe hard to see at first, this piece has so many different layers that I lost count.
I started by mixing glue, gesso, sawdust and coffee grains to get a nice texture. Then gradually adding layers of paint and finishing with varnish. I wanted to create something innocent, yet profound. 
Once again- the moon, my favorite object to paint.

Not exactly  my most original title...
Even though at first sight this piece seems somewhat minimalist, there is a lot of work behind it.
In fact there are at least 10 layers of a rather complex nature lurking underneath.
It took months to finally come to a conclusion.

This one came right after 'AI without the A'. Yes, I have always been inspired by the great and tragic Rothko. But of course I put my own spin on it. Essentially a vertical land- or seascape, the 3 rectangles are the main focus. There is a certain kind of roughness to this creation, hence the name...

In this painting, I've merged the vividity of acrylics with the smoothness of latex to craft a textural dance on canvas. Integrating geometric balance with symbolic depth, each shape offers a gateway to different emotional interpretations. Influenced by oriental art, these forms in bright, contrasting colors create a semi-abstract narrative that invites viewers into a serene yet dynamic emotional landscape.
This artwork aims to radiate warmth and clarity, bringing a revitalizing energy into any space it inhabits.

The first layer was gesso mixed with sand.
That particular texture gives the colors  that special 'chalky' look.
Yes, it was once again inspired by the good old Rothko in terms of using soft contoured squares and rectangles. .....with a bit of a playful twist...

the sitting figure represents the middle way.
For the background I used several techniques such as spray paints through templates.

This piece once again has many layers. I have used some new 'tools' on it to create that special pattern, namely 'templates' that have washed up onto the beach (I live right next to the sea, the gulf of Thailand)

This piece has been created almost entirely with found objects or home made stamps/templates.

Other than the background, all the objects / stamps on this piece are 'stamped'.
