The color field painting offers a space to practice perception and to experience the presence of active silence and mindfulness. In my works, I consider perception to be THE basis for approaching an expanded “understanding” of the world. A new understanding, guided by an unprejudiced view.

Color field painting on canvas -we have intense pink and magenta and orange and blue tones. And there is movement of color that indicates a crisis that ultimately led to cancer and is influencing my daily work ever since. Energy is returning slowly, which one can already see in this picture...like many other artworks this piece is on canvas that brings these lovely daylight colors to intense shining - inspired by Rupprecht Geiger (german artist) and Mark Rothko. After all this colorfield is more uplifting than anything else...

This Colorfieldpainting "For Free" is dedicated to Mark Rothko as well of course Joni Mitchell (title). The main colors red and yellow (orange) are supplemented with purple at the edge - this creates a completely new visual effect, where the energetic red, enhanced by a sunny yellow, is contrasted with the purple edge. Visual influence versus further development of the visual language - this is how this creative process can be described. The pure power of the color is accompanied by color contrasts that give the picture an inner tension. Colorfieldpainting integrates tension & sensivity... Color strength of blue and magenta harmonize - or contrast - depending on the view and mood. The harmony with the layered blue, which contrasts and enhances the exterior color, creates the exciting color tone. Tension and calm are in contradiction and compete with each other. Inspired by Mark Rothko and Rupprecht Geiger.
Oil and acrylic paints (daylight colors) applied in layers in a simple form draws the viewer's gaze to the center... I finished the painting during the last quite difficult months (cancer), it helps me the heavy with the light to connect and to understand the deeper meaning of a crisis. Or at least practice understanding

I really enjoy color Intensity | this series started 10 years ago and is inspired by the colorful work Rothko or Rupprecht Geiger - they blaze and pulsate with the sheer power of colour. The contrast between a mix of pink | red (which combines to form a special red) are reminiscent of journeys to unknown places... Whether it is suitable as a meditation picture is best for the viewer to decide for themselves on a dull day.


The use of pure, intense color / or as a pure pigment amazed and inspired me. Inspired by Rupprecht Geiger, Yves Klein and Mark Rothko and of course the poets of Rainer-Maria Rilke.

This colorfield painting is an expression of the playful use of the power of colour. The artistic influences of Mark Rothko and Jackson Pollock come together in this work. This picture also has a long history and already contains various layers of oil paint. The last layer came with the kind of "drip-painting" and leads me up into infinite galaxies.
