More recently, I have ventured into the ink wash technique of watercolour painting to enhance the furry effects in soft coated animals. The inking process looks deceptively simple but each stroke can prove to be temperamental and challenging but gives great satisfaction when achieved.

Like a brushstroke of vivid blue and orange, the kingfisher cuts through the tranquility of its watery domain. Its eyes, sharp and keen, scan the rippling surface for the slightest hint of movement, embodying a blend of beauty and deadly precision.

The cat’s sleek fur of midnight black and magical eyes draw one into their depths, enchanting all who meet her gaze. Her tail, a graceful arc of shadow, sways rhythmically behind her as she moves with the fluid grace of a whisper.

Lying on a bed of fresh snow, the bear seems utterly content as it stretches out in snug repose, basking in the crisp, clean air of the winter morning.
