Shan Re is a multidisciplinary contemporary Indian artist who has explored infinite dimensions within herself and created her own artistic vocabulary. She constantly strives to explore and expand her boundaries and horizons to understand life from the best perspective. The intensity and frequency of her creative output is enormous.

Intuitively moving between mediums, Shan has continuously evolved, experimented and explored a wide array of subjects and genres in several group and solo shows in India and abroad. She has recently shown her work in Singapore, Los Angeles and New York.

Shan’s art practice involves various disciplines from drawing, painting, poetry, sculpture and Installation. Her works are in prominent public and private collections. Shan lives and works in Bangalore.

. When I listen to my quiet voice it connects me to a greater knowledge, it gives me an oasis of peace in the midst of chaos; brings balance and harmony; helps me to build inner strength and spread joy, timeless beauty and resilience through my art.

 My art offers me a way to express my deepest emotions, thoughts and life experiences. It allows me access and communicate stories that I would otherwise never tell. It’s almost like I have a creative treasure buried deep in my mind, a place I would not dare to touch or go to without my art.

My art offers me a way to express my deepest emotions, thoughts and life experiences. 

My art gives me the power to change the stories and rework the characters in any way that I want - a story of the survivor with the mysterious secret powers; a story of a warrior fighting to stay strong and inspire the world. I need that secret part of my mind to tell stories. When I go there it feels real and surreal at the same time. That treasure box holds those memories, forgotten chapters, uncharted images and unspoken words.
