The vibrant symbols and expressions communicate personal prayers, self-identification, values, emotions, and marriage for the Ndebele tribe in South Africa. The women of the tribe are often the tradition carriers and the main designers of the wall art of their home. The tradition and style of house painting is passed down through the families from generation to generation by the mothers. A well-painted home shows that the woman of the household is a good wife and mother.

Rina's  husband always encourages her and lift her up, truly being the wind beneath her wings. He always pushes her higher with his praise and support. When she's feeling like dropping right back to the ground, he nudges her up, his kind words and inspiring insights showing her that she can do it, she can get through whatever it is she's battling with. She has been through some pretty tough times, especially over the past year, and her husband has been there for her.

“The Flight of Butterflies is the most beautiful, tiny and delicate I have ever seen. I see it as a tethered Iris. Its petals move as if it could take flight any second. And how delightful and wondrous is this quote, to see the butterfly as a flying flower and to see the Iris flower as a butterfly about to take flight; it makes me see flowers differently and with more wonder, and butterflies too! I really appreciate, as an adult, to be given a whimsical and new perspective."

Although South Africa is a relatively small country, it is a climate patchwork of warm coastal subtropics, hot deserts, humid highlands, snow-topped mountains and an enclave of Mediterranean weather in the southwest.
Icicles are formed on days when the outdoor air temperature is sub freezing and heat from sunlight melts snow or ice on anything sloped. The droplets of water freeze as they loses their heat to the cold air, forming a cone-like shape of ice.

Black And White

Rina was fascinated when she read about the mysterious Kawah Ijen volcano in Indonesia, that spews blue lava. The colors that come to her mind, when a volcano erupts, are a mix of molten orange-red-yellow, certainly not blue!
She learned that the blue, unusual for a volcano, is due to the presence of an active solfatara which emits strong gasses with high levels of sulphur. When the gasses come in contact with the oxygen-rich atmospheric air, they ignite, giving rise to a blue flame.
