The life of a tree in the landscape mirroring our own in the world of things. We change with the seasons but remain rooted to our emotional upbringing and philosophy. Nothing really changes.

The philosophy of the poet in nature- the world as I found it is a description of falling into the beauty of the forest in all it's glory, pristine, with it's own sense of being. it gives the wanderer a feeling of their mortality and temporary insignificance in nature.

An encounter with a very special tree, an ancient Beech which I painted several times. A tree with real presence and personality  who connects the viewer to their own temporality and insignificance

Walikng in the woods stimulates the speculative mind, poetic thinking and ideas about things scientific and mathematical and their interaction with philosophy.... the mysteries of life!

When you walk in the forests and hills thoughts and speculations bubble up. Poetry is created. Ideas take form. Thinking comes alive.

Environment

Spring in the forests when light and weather and new growth open the soul to the joy of nature. When the bluebells suddenly break through and the pristine young leaves make sunlight ecstatic.
