The ruins of this ancient city on the territory of modern Turkey, this place is loved by tourists. The name of the city of Side is translated as pomegranate. It is not easy enough to retire to write an etude, but in the evening there are much fewer tourists. The motive with ruins at sunset and laconic at the same time is not simple, the main task is the integrity of perception.

This view was painted from sketches after a trip to Crete in the village of Bali. During the trip, I wrote 40 sketches from nature. The motive is not complicated at first glance, but that air of sfumato that envelops everything around and gives a sense of depth in the picture is one of the main tasks in the artist's work.

I also studied the history of the arts and loved the old stone architecture. Arriving in Montenegro, I visited the old fortress Old Bar with a sketchbook. It really impressed me, I liked the texture of the stone and the architectural style, it immerses the viewer in the Middle Ages.
