Dmitry Zakunov is an art photographer who works in the technique of “chronophotography” which implements an artistic method of frame-by-frame observation of an object, creating an artistic space where a time interval is shown in a single frame.

This artwork belongs to one of my early series named "Wine time". The series unites such themes as theatre, feasts, temptations, fruitfulness and harvest. The print "Girl with a golden earring" depicts a young girl with a glass of red wine laying on the velvet cushions. The red color is dominant in deep various shades giving the chamber and theatrical atmosphere.

The series "Psychopathology of everyday life" was planned at the end of 2020 as an attempt to research and visualize positive and destructive psychological processes with the method of chronophotography. I aimed to build specific art space where my models reflects particular physical and mental states. This piece named "Deceptive dreams and apprehensions" points out to the edge between subconsciousness and reality, showing that bizarre and frightening dreams are not always designed to hurt.

The artwork "Bon Appetit" refers to the art of Jan Schwarkmeier and Peter Greenaway and the black and white photographs of Joel-Peter Witkin, depicting the process of consuming food and the deformation of proportions of the human body in a photographic composition in monochrome tones.
