My artistic exploration develops on two intertwined directions. The psychological impact of the image and the technical means to achieve an emotional response where different mediums are manipulated with a variety of tools and controlled or spontaneous gestures.

DAN LAURENTIU ARCUS

The title of the artwork is a reference to the Tin Man from "The Wizard of Oz," who famously sought a heart to become more human. In my painting, the Tin Man has transcended his original purpose and become something greater - a new god, watching over humanity.



The use of metaphor in this painting is intentional, inviting viewers to reflect on the role that technology plays in our lives and the potential impact it could have on our future. Will we one day worship a new form of intelligence, born from our own creations?



Dan's works usually depict an alternative perception of the reality that is possible by letting go of the standardised perception of the surroundings.
Once time, space, social and cultural standards become other than boundaries the possibilities are limitless and the creative thought can release us into a freedom which we didn't have the courage to hope for.

Dan's work usually depicts an alternative perception of the reality that is possible by letting go of the standard perception of the surroundings. Once time, space, social and cultural standards become other than boundaries the possibilities are limitless and the creative thought can release us into a freedom which we didn't have the courage to hope for. He applies the same concept to his process trying to use the result of accidental drops or free gesture finger or brush intervention as a will of a predefined chaos that is used as a pretext for new layers and details of the composition. The images he uses for reference are collages of various out of context picture cuts found in archives, social media or even screen prints from cinema or television productions.
