I mostly love to work on gesture through portraits , figurative, nature oriented representation. I am working on sound and its impact on human life and nature through gestural reaction.



BISWAJIT DAS

Night was mostly silent, yet eloquent at a certain point in my life. I spend mostly reading something with a light jazz or blues playing at the background, which occasionally took me to the era of Krishna, a farm boy playing his flute all night to nature which would create a charming glow around him. I felt the night light in my reading room sometime.

Sound has a strong impact on our psychological frame. Especially the one that creates a shocking moment in our life. It left me with a sheer emptiness, an unknown hollow space where I merely can move physically or emotionally.
I try to bring out one such moment of hollowness in this composition.

Nature around us transforms its shapes and  colors as the spring sets in. I found this beautiful moment at my backyard at a banana garden. I tried to use my composition space with different types of leaves to fetch the beauty I felt within.

Act of awakening shown a metamorphosis in human soul apparently and off course deep inside it. Sun is source of power and light of wisdom that touches us as we get back to our consciousness. Eyes start sprouting and senses begin blooming more prominently.
That's how we welcome a life hidden within our life. That's the way I prefer to say 'good morning'.

Here in this drawing I tried to figure out a dream of birth of Venus once, I saw her head down. Was it fear of beauty, liberty, or something else I never know. Perhaps it's us who snatches their softness, politeness, sensitivity out of their life. And even after all the adversities the flower of beauty and truth blooms on the top.

A beautiful drawing of a female back with a queue of babies trying to climb up suggests, metamorphosis in human psyche and behavior with each days and nights passing by. The horse legs signifies the momentum of time here.
I watched a performance that emphasized this phenomenon in a woman's life within a day as if life was narrated within a day, the day within an hour.

An extremely sincere line drawing focusing , 'Taboo' as it has been reflected in our society or in a particular human life. It has a strong influence on my thoughts and concepts in this composition. Here, I picked up pictorial elements from a surreal performance to build up my dreamscape around that subject.
