Inspired by Zebra stripes and a black and white monochrome palette, Zebra stripes is a contemporary artwork with lots of texture and depth. The oil paint is applied thickly and the painting has ruts and knife marks in the paint. Flashes of bright colour lift the monochrome creating a modern vibe. Splashed and dripped paint suggest the zebra in the grass and gold paint catches and reflects light adding depth and intrigue. The boxed edges are painted black. Zebra stripes is ready to hang.

Created using an expressionist technique with thrown and dripped paint the undergrowth has gold flashes of tangled plant life which catches and reflects sunlight. Poppies symbolises remembrance and, for all their cheerful exuberance, poppies also suggest pain and lost love. They are a contradiction. I wanted Poppy Love to suggest both these sides of the beautiful wild poppy. The exuberance and the pain. The colours are muted but the red is dramatic. The undergrowth is dark and wild against the flower heads. Poppy Love has been created in an expressionist style with dripped and thrown paint to suggest the chaos of nature,

Wild Spring Bloom was inspired by the hillside near my home. The spring sunshine has turned the scrubland into a blaze of colour with wild lavender, an abundance of yellow broom, wild forsythia and beautiful pink morningstar flowers. In my painting I wanted to capture the colour and beauty but also the wild disarray and chaos of the tangled branches and thick undergrowth.  I used an expressionist style of painting with thrown and dripped paint to create the under painting.

The Lavender Fields, a sweet perfume. I breathe deep, relax. Inspired by the abundance of wild lavender on the hillsides, The Lavender Fields captures an early morning glow of a bruised purple landscapes. A soft lilac haze of flowers and twisted tendrils and crooked stalks. The sky is painted in deep greys and blues with glimmers of gold. Expressionist dripped paint suggests nature and its move toward chaos whilst the delicate lavender flowers bring focus and clarity to the artwork.
