Vivian Loh (b. 1997, Singapore) is a multi-disciplinary artist who specializes in oil painting, murals, assemblages, digital illustration and drawing in her artistic practice. Vivian is inspired by the sensation of form within everyday occurrences and seeks to explore the body’s sensorial experience through the transformative value of image making in her works.  

Her works have been exhibited in Marina Bay Sands, Gajah Gallery, City Square Mall  and Banksy Art gallery at MOX, Singapore.

"Detached" talks about the Effects of Technology on Human Interaction and how it also shapes the way societies and people behave, grow, evolve, and develop, both within their own lives and in their relationships with others. 

My memory in China brings me back to a park where I witness Chinese calligraphy being written with water on the ground. The words were evaporated by the sun or washed away by rain. "Evanescence II" was painted with the inspiration from trying to grasp a memory that has already been forgotten.

Patience means having the inner power to be calm in a challenging time. It is the positive mindset that sees opportunities even when the situation is not in your favor.

I was traveling around Cambodia and met a lot of people who were very hands on and spent an immense amount of time and effort doing the things they do and was inspired by their approach in life. 

"Early Morning Brume" features a series of nine landscape paintings fabricated from memory, found images or by chance in efforts to explore the body's sensorial experience through the transformative value of image making. 

Vivian aims to bridge the gap between fantasy and reality through layering her own visual perceptions to form a new visual language as a way to reduce the familiarity of everyday instances while bringing out the sensation of the image rather than the image itself.
