In doing so, I explore the emotions of the individual. While capturing everything I perceive, I focus on the similarities rather than the difference

This portrait shows a child in a moment of uncertainty. A questioning, slightly anxious look into the near or distant future. As adults, we are responsible for explaining the world to children. The more we think about the next generation in everything we do, the easier it is for us to respond sincerely to the children's questions.

While painting this character from an Indian theater play, the second wave of Covid in India devastated the country. The figure’s expression symbolizes the situation: a beautiful country on hold. It is therefore dedicated to all the people of India who have been affected by the pandemic.

This boy may or may not be experiencing a peaceful moment of silence. In any case, he seems to find comfort in hugging a tree. Children and nature are the two most precious factors that we MUST care for and nurture before everything else if we love our planet and wish to keep it safe and habitable.

When you look at this girl, you feel captivated by her eyes. Her facial expression is accusing, demanding, questioning, disappointed, disbelieving, frustrated, sad - all, in the aritst's opinion, completely justified in view of the way we are leaving the world to the next generation.

Have a look at this lady's face. Don't you think, she looks very self-confident and a bit mischievous as well? The artist could feel her inner strength and she absoulutely wanted to paint her because of it.

KB is an activist in the queer community in the US and a role model for many. In 2008, KB founded Queer Rebels, a successful creative business showcasing LGBTQ*+ artists of color, and has since become one of the main Black trans leaders within the Bay Area around San Francisco and in New York. The artist and KB have known each other since the 90s when the artist was living in the Bay Area for three years.

Does he look at us? Or does he look through us? Does he look expectantly? Or is he uncomfortable? Is he bored? What difference do the answers to these questions make to us? Maybe he's just being himself, despite the rather intimate photo session.




The mood in this painting is underlined by the blue color scheme. Although blue is a cool tone in the color palette, in terms of symbolic energy, it has some other qualities that are associated with many positive associations and thus counteract the "coldness" attributed to it, such as harmony and sympathy, relaxation, inspiration and reverie. So the figure on the couch seems to be completely relaxed.
